Actually, the case in which the court can give its verdict on Azam Khan today is related to the controversial statement given on the daughters of former MP Amar Singh. It is alleged that on August 23, 2018, Azam Khan had made objectionable remarks about Amar Singh’s family in an interview given to a private channel. It is being told that Azam Khan gave this interview in Johar University.
Initially this case was registered in Gomtinagar police station of Lucknow. But later it was transferred to Azimnagar police station in Rampur. This happened because the controversial interview was taken in Johar University, which falls under Azimnagar police station area. The hearing of the case is going on in the MP-MLA Special Court (Magistrate Trial). Now the arguments of all the parties have been completed and the court can give its verdict today.
This decision is being considered of special importance both at the political and social level. At present, Azam Khan’s son Abdullah is lodged in Rampur jail in a case related to two PAN cards. It is mandatory for Azam Khan to personally appear in the court.
