Hospice. The winter session of the Legislative Assembly started in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. The proceedings of the House started on the first day at 11 am on Wednesday. However, there was an uproar in the beginning itself. Congress and BJP argued over Panchayat elections. During this, when Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur raised questions regarding the delay in Panchayat elections, CM Sukhu answered his questions. However, Congress showed maneuver during this period and the ruling party MLAs walked out of the House.
According to the information, ruling party MLAs came out of the assembly with posters in their hands and raised slogans against the BJP MLAs. During this period, a total of 33 MLAs staged a protest. During the sloganeering, Congress MLAs came out under the leadership of Cabinet Minister Jagat Singh Negi and said that there is a difference in the words and actions of the BJP MLAs. They raise questions on law and order and themselves get involved in serious cases. Jagat Singh Negi said that this is the situation of BJP not only in the state but in the entire country. He said that the BJP MLA involved in the allegations should resign.
what is the matter
Let us tell you that the MLA from Churah of Chamba, Hans Raj, has been accused of sexual exploitation by a Muslim girl from his area and the MLA is being continuously interrogated in this matter. The important thing is that BJP MLA Hans Raj has got anticipatory bail from the court. In this case, Nachan MLA Vinod Kumar was also called by the police for questioning. At the same time, Congress is also cornering BJP on the allegations of misconduct against Bindal’s brother. At present, the proceedings of the House have been adjourned for lunch and the session will start again after lunch.
Jairam cornered the government
Earlier, at the beginning of the House proceedings, BJP presented a stoppage motion, which was accepted by the Speaker. On the stop work motion, Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur said in the House that in the last three years of the government, it seems that the Chief Minister is not running the government but NSUI. Decisions are taken while reaching from Mall Road to Summerhill and decisions are changed while reaching from Summerhill to Mall Road. The state system is not changing, but the system is declining. CM does not listen to anyone. But let the CM listen to the voice of the opposition. Jairam Thakur said that it is clearly written in the law regarding Panchayat elections that elections will be held on time and cannot be postponed. Only under special circumstances, elections can be postponed for 6 months and the situation of the government in the state is not good. Every class is on the streets. This is a situation like the emergency of 1975.
CM Sukhu replied
On the allegations of the Leader of Opposition, CM Sukhu said in the House that the Leader of the Opposition is in tension. Because BJP is divided into 5 groups. Whatever happened in the Rajya Sabha elections in 2024, there was no call for democracy at that time. BJP had postponed the Municipal Corporation Shimla elections in 2022 by 9 months. Sukhu said that Panchayat elections will be held within the ambit of law.
