Patna News: Big news came out from Polytechnic College, Patna. Here the hostel operator and professor were arrested red handed while taking bribe by the Vigilance Department team. He was taking a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh.
Patna: A big incident came to light in Gulzarbagh Polytechnic College, Patna. Where college professor and hostel superintendent Mithilesh Kumar was arrested red-handed by the surveillance department team while taking a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh. He is the husband of Congress leader Mona Paswan. After the arrest, the team also raided the house of the accused, in which the raid continued for 5 hours.
A complaint was lodged against Mithilesh Kumar by Sandeep Kumar Dubey alias Raunak, a resident of Bhabhua. Sandeep Dubey is the mess operator in the hostel and is responsible for the food of about 450 students. Sandeep’s allegation was that Mithilesh used to ask him for separate commission according to 9 students and used to harass him continuously if he did not give it. Fed up with this, he contacted the surveillance department and a trap was laid with the stipulated amount. As soon as Mithilesh Kumar took the bribe amount, the team caught him on the spot.
Claim to have bribe money at home too
The complainant told that he lives on rent in the house of Kaushal Kishore Pandey in Bajrangpuri, Patna and there is Rs 30 to 40 lakh cash in a suitcase kept in his flat (301 and 302). After this statement, a special team was formed under the leadership of Vigilance DSP Arunoday Pandey and the decision was taken to conduct an immediate raid.

When the team reached the flat, Mithilesh’s wife and Congress leader Mona Paswan had gone to her relative’s wedding ceremony. After contacting them, she reached the flat with her daughter and brother-in-law. After this the search operation started which lasted for about 5 hours. The team thoroughly inspected every corner of the flat, from every room to the bathroom, kitchen and cupboards. Mithilesh was continuously called and searched for the suitcase at the places indicated by him, but the suitcase full of cash was not found anywhere. Despite a lot of hard work, the team did not get any money and ultimately they had to return empty handed.
Who is Mithilesh Kumar?
Mithilesh Kumar is a resident of Nalanda. His younger brother is a sub-inspector, while his wife Mona Paswan is an active Congress leader. She has contested assembly elections from Rajgir and has also been a member of Nalanda District Council. There is a son and daughter in the family, who are preparing for medical and engineering. Vigilance team has started further action against the professor in the corruption case.
