Lucknow: Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav has made serious allegations on the special intensive revision process going on in Uttar Pradesh. He claimed that this is not SIR but a hidden form of NRC, through which the ruling party is trying to cut the votes of its opponents. Akhilesh Yadav said that pressure is being put on the government and officials so that the votes of Samajwadi supporters are reduced. He alleges that instructions are being given from the level of the Chief Minister that the votes of the socialists should be cut, so that the ruling party benefits. He raised the question that how did the ruling leaders come to know that their 4 crore votes had been deducted? Overnight, MLAs and party leaders are planning to increase votes by collaborating with private companies.
Akhilesh Yadav gave example of mathematics
Giving an example of mathematics, Akhilesh said that if 4 crore votes are distributed among 403 assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh, then BJP’s votes will be reduced by about 84 thousand per seat. Whereas the opposition can get the benefit of 40 thousand votes per seat. Akhilesh also quoted West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who is saying similar things that a big conspiracy is being hatched in the name of SIR. His direct allegation is that the Home Ministry and the government could not do the work directly. She is getting it done through the Election Commission. This clearly shows that the Election Commission is aligned with the ruling party.
There may be an uproar in the Assembly regarding SIR
This statement has come at a time when the winter session of the Assembly is about to begin. It is being said that the opposition may create ruckus in the SIR Locker House. The revision process of voter list is going on in Uttar Pradesh and opposition parties are continuously alleging irregularities. Akhilesh had earlier also demanded transparency and extension of deadline from the Election Commission regarding SIR.
