Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s mother-in-law, Vidyawati Devi, passed away last evening. She was 90 years old and was ill for a long time. Vidyavati Devi was admitted to Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), Patna yesterday. Where he breathed his last at around 6:40 pm.
Let us tell you that his last rites were performed this morning at Bans Ghat in Patna. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar himself reached Bans Ghat and bid last farewell to his mother-in-law. His son Nishant Kumar was also present along with the CM. Apart from this, many close and family members including Bihar Government Minister Ashok Chaudhary also attended the funeral.

Vidyavati Devi was the mother of late Manju Sinha, wife of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Nitish Kumar’s wife Manju Sinha died in the year 1995, after which Vidyavati Devi was the elderly member of the family. At the same time, due to prolonged illness, his health was continuously deteriorating for some time. At the same time, CM Nitish Kumar looked very emotional during the last rites. He himself lit the funeral pyre. During this time, a large number of people had gathered at Bamboo Ghat in Patna, in which many big leaders, MLAs and ministers also participated.
