Amid speculations about leadership change in the state, BJP MP from Bengaluru North, Gowda, told reporters here, “I don’t think there is any truth in the ongoing discussion about change of leadership as these are decisions that are taken by our central level leaders. The states are taken keeping in mind the political situation.
He said he has information that no such decision has been taken so far after Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah in detail about the “current situation”. Gowda said the steps taken by the Chief Minister during the COVID-19 pandemic and the progress made by Karnataka in development activities have been appreciated and there is no reason to remove them.
“I believe there is no possibility of change of leadership. These are all speculations.” Asked about the purported audio of BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel, in which he hinted at change of leadership and formation of a new team, Gowda said there was no need for it. Because he himself has dismissed it as fake.
Gowda said the people of the state stood with Yeddyurappa because of his policies and his “mode of governance”. “I think there is no possibility of change of leadership. The rest has been left to the national level leaders.
