New Delhi, There were some misunderstandings about the new variant of Corona (Covid-19), Omicron. Till now it was being said that Omicron is less lethal. Its infected people are recovering in 3-4 days. The percentage of people dying due to Omicron infection is very less. Meaning it is not as harmful as the previous variants of Corona (Covid-19). But the results of a new research are proving to dispel all these misconceptions. In these, it has been told that Omicron may not take life, but is causing a lot of damage to the internal organs of the infected person.
This research has been done by experts from Germany’s University Clinic Hamburg-Ependorf (UKE). This research study is published in the European Heart Journal. The infection of corona virus (Covid-19), be it of any kind or level, it leaves its marks in the internal parts of the infected person’s body. This also applies to Omicron, which is rapidly spreading all over the world. Even if the symptoms of corona (Covid-19) are not visible in its infected or they look very minor. In this research, 443 people aged 45 to 74 years were included. All of them were infected with Corona (Covid-19), but with very mild or mild symptoms. Some of the infected did not even show symptoms of corona (Covid-19). Of these, 93% of the patients did not have the chance to be admitted to the hospital.
But during the research, when the internal organs of these infected were studied, startling results were revealed. A researcher said, ‘When the lungs of these people were tested, it was found that they had shrunk by 3%. Similarly, the test of the heart revealed that its pumping capacity has decreased by 2%. Not only this, the amount of marker protein in the blood was found to be up to 41% higher. The person is under stress, its information reaches the heart through the amount of this protein.
According to the researchers, ‘The story does not end here. Kidney capacity was also found to be reduced by 2% in patients with asymptomatic or less symptoms infected with Corona (Covid-19). Also, the stretch in the veins of the legs was seen up to 3 times more. However, no damage was found due to this infection in the brain. In this regard, Raphael Twerenbold, director of the Scientific Study Center, says, ‘These results are very important.
Especially given the circumstances created by the current Omicron infection. At the same time, Stephen Blankenburg, medical director of UKE’s Heart Center, says, ‘These results have enabled us to detect and treat the effects of corona infected in the internal parts of the body in time.’
