Ingredients for making ‘Chicken and Chickpeas Tazin’:
3 chicken bengal peeled halved
Kabuli chana 2 cups soaked overnight
Salt to taste
Black pepper 1 tsp
Oil 3 tablespoons
2 onions finely chopped
Garlic 3 tablespoons
Cumin powder 2 teaspoons
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Paprika powder 2 teaspoons
Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
Ginger paste 1 tsp
Chicken Stock 3 Cups
Dry Apricot 1/4 (one fourth cup
Lemon juice 1 tsp
Fresh Green Coriander 1/4 (one fourth cup
Lemon pieces to decorate
Chicken and Chickpeas Tazin Recipe:
To make chicken and chickpeas tween, first of all, put chicken pieces in a vessel, add salt and ground black pepper in it.
Apply and rub on the chicken.
– Turn on the gas and offer a non stick pan. Add 3 teaspoons of oil to it. When the oil is hot, add the chicken pieces and roast till they turn golden brown. Now take it out in another bowl.
Pan add onion and garlic in the remaining oil and fry it till it becomes light golden brown. Add cumin powder, coriander powder, paprika powder, turmeric powder and ginger paste and fry for 2 to 3 minutes. Now add roast pieces of chicken to it and mix it well.
Now add salt and chicken stock to it and cook on sim flame till completely cooked. Now add kabuli chana, apricot and cinnamon and mix well and cook so that the gravy becomes thick. Add lemon juice and mix well.
Turn off the gas. Garnish with finely chopped coriander. Serve hot, garnished with a slice of lemon.
