High alert has been issued in Delhi after the terrorist blast near the Red Fort. Police have confirmed that the attack was part of a planned terrorist plot, in which eight people have died. NIA, Special Cell and forensic teams are jointly investigating, while Home Minister Amit Shah himself has taken information about the situation. Chandni Chowk market has been kept closed due to security reasons and security has been tightened in the entire city.

Market Association President Sanjay Bhargaw said that the market will remain closed for a day on the request of police and security agencies. Tight security arrangements have been made in the area and investigative agencies are constantly present at the spot. It is noteworthy that during the wedding season, lakhs of people come here every day for shopping. According to some reports, the daily foot fall in Chandni is 4-6 lakhs.
Police Commissioner Satish Golcha has confirmed that the blast near the Red Fort was not the result of any accident, but a planned terrorist conspiracy. Remains of IED have been recovered from the debris found at the spot. So far, eight people have been confirmed dead and 16 injured in this blast. A suspicious person has been detained by the police and his interrogation is ongoing.
Investigating agencies started investigating the evidence
After the blast, NIA, Delhi Police Special Cell and forensic teams together started investigating the entire area. Security agencies are busy investigating the links of this terrorist module so that it can be found out which terrorist organization’s conspiracy is behind it. Search operations are going on in all the surrounding areas and CCTV footage is being scrutinized.
Search operation from Faridabad to Gujarat
The news of discovery of RDX and other explosive material in Badi Mata area of Faridabad this morning has further increased the concern of the agencies. According to police sources, the links related to the Delhi blasts may extend to many states. Till now, police have detained many suspects in Gujarat, UP and Haryana. Every clue is being investigated so that the network of this conspiracy can be broken.
Home Minister’s high level meeting and strict message
Home Minister Amit Shah spoke on phone to Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha and IB Chief (Intelligence Bureau Chief) immediately after the incident. He said that playing with national security will not be tolerated. The Home Minister directed all the agencies to investigate from every angle and not to ignore any clue. Besides, it has also been asked to ensure complete arrangements for the treatment of the injured.
