Chandigarh Serial Killer News: The court has sentenced the crazy killer who murdered four women in Chandigarh to life imprisonment. Student Neha was murdered in 2010. The accused was arrested by the police after 14 years. The culprit Monu was a taxi driver and used to prey on women. Even in 2022, Monu had killed a woman.
Chandigarh. The murderer of four women, including an MBA student, in Chandigarh, the capital of Punjab and Haryana, has been sentenced to life imprisonment. Last Thursday, the court had declared the accused Monu guilty and had reserved the decision on sentencing for today. The culprit is a resident of Dadumajra, West of Sector 38.
On Friday, Chandigarh court gave an important verdict in the murder case of MBA student Neha in Sector 38, Chandigarh. The hearing of the case started at around 2:19 pm and within a few minutes the court gave its decision. Earlier, serial killer accused Monu was presented in the court amid tight security. After completion of the hearing, the court has sentenced the accused Monu to life imprisonment. Along with this, a fine of Rs 50 thousand has also been imposed on him. After the decision, security arrangements were tightened in the court premises. The police took the culprit into custody.
News 18 had done special coverage in this entire matter and this was a matter of 2010. Accused Monu Kumar was arrested in the case after 14 years.
It is noteworthy that in this entire rape and murder case, Neha’s body was found in the bushes in Sector 38 and the investigation started only after that. But it was not possible to find out who the accused was. But after 14 years, Maloya police station in-charge Jaspal Singh arrested 38-year-old Monu Kumar in this case on the basis of facts and evidence.
Murdered after rape
Neha, resident of Sector 38, was going to Sector 15 for coaching of English Speaking course on the evening of 10 July 2010. During this time, taxi driver Monu, resident of Sector 38 West, raped her and then murdered her. Later Neha’s body was found and clothes and phone were missing. For many years, Monu, who carried out this murder, was not caught by the police. But in 2022, a woman was also murdered in a similar manner in Maloya, Chandigarh and later in the investigation, when evidence related to the Neha murder case and links to the Maloya murder case were found, the police arrested Monu.
