Long lasting freshness feature
The biggest specialty of this flower is that after harvesting it remains fresh for a much longer time than roses. Its petals and stalks look shiny like artificial flowers, that is why people are preferring it for decoration on special occasions.
Farming is done in polyhouse
It is not cultivated in the open field, but in a polyhouse. Therefore, it is grown in controlled temperature and environment which improves the quality and production of flowers.
Successful farming is happening in Tamil Nadu and Kerala
This flower is being cultivated on a large scale in Tamil Nadu and Kerala of South India, where farmers are earning handsome income from it. This model is now being adopted in Chhattisgarh so that the farmers here can also earn more profits.
Plant will be available in Chhattisgarh
The college will soon provide saplings to the farmers or the farmers themselves can bring the saplings from South India. The objective is to give a new direction to the farmers of Chhattisgarh in flower cultivation. Lisianthus flower can open doors to new possibilities and higher income for farmers in Chhattisgarh. If this experiment is successful, this flower will give tough competition to roses in the market in the coming years.
