Marwahi: A worrying incident has come to light from Marwahi forest range, which has once again raised questions on the safety of forests and wildlife. A plastic box got stuck in the head of a wild jackal which had strayed from the forest near Danikundi village of Marwahi forest division. Because of this the jackal had to face a lot of trouble. According to the local people, the jackal was visible around the forest for a long time. A plastic box was completely stuck in his head, due to which he was neither able to see properly nor breathe freely. The box was covering the jackal’s mouth and eyes, due to which he looked very nervous. Due to pain and suffocation, the jackal kept running here and there and trying to save his life.
informed the forest department
Seeing this condition of the jackal, the people of the village immediately informed the forest department. As soon as the information was received, Forest Department employees reached the spot. The forest staff, with the help of the villagers, started trying to catch the jackal safely and remove the plastic box from its head. Everyone’s objective was to help the jackal without harming him. However, as soon as human movement increased nearby, the jackal got scared and quickly ran away towards the denser and inner part of the forest. Due to this, the Forest Department team could not catch him on the spot. Even after this, the forest staff is continuously searching for the jackal, so that it can be saved as soon as possible.
Serious dangers of plastic waste
This incident has once again exposed the serious danger of plastic waste spreading in the forests. People living near forests often throw plastic cans, bottles and other garbage in the open. This waste is proving fatal for wildlife. Many times animals get entangled in these plastic things in search of food and become victims of serious injury or death. The Forest Department has appealed to the people not to throw plastic waste in and around the forest. Protection of environment and wildlife is the responsibility of all of us. If such negligence is not stopped in time, then the lives of the voiceless animals living in the forest will remain in constant danger.
