In such situations, pensioners, especially older pensioners, face many difficulties. But the recently implemented electronic PPO will ease the livelihood of senior citizens (pensioners).
He congratulated the pension department officials who successfully implemented the electronic PPO during the Kovid epidemic. This came as a boon for many retired officers and employees who retired during the lockdown. And who were facing difficulty in obtaining hard copies of their PPO in person.

Retired Chief Treasury Officer OP Singh said that whenever an officer or employee retires, a PPO is made. This PPO goes to the Treasury Office and it is on this basis that the pension is issued. Not only this, whenever the government increases pension in any way, PPO is needed on such occasions. Sometimes PPOs get lost between documents and are not easily found.
But after this initiative of the Central Government, the Pensioners Welfare Department has now decided to consolidate the electronic PPO generated through the PFMS application of CGA (Comptroller and Auditor General) with Digi-Locker. This makes it easy for the pensioner to get an instant print out of the latest copy of his PPO from the Digi-Locker account.
