Sitamarhi. The festival of Vivah Panchami is especially celebrated throughout Mithila. A wave of religious enthusiasm has spread from Punaura Dham, the birthplace of Mother Sita, to various Ram-Janaki temples of the city. Like every year, this time too the preparations for Shri Sitaram Vivah Mahotsav have reached their peak. Traditional puja-matkor will be organized on 24th November and divine marriage ceremony will be organized on 25th November. To make the program successful, the temple trust committees have started a series of meetings, in which special discussions were held on the outline of the event, security arrangements and facilities for the devotees.
Shri Ram’s Baraat Yatra: Main center of attraction
This time the grand Shri Ram Baraat Yatra coming from Ayodhya will be the main center of attraction. Special preparations are being made to welcome it. Temple committees have prepared detailed planning to decorate the procession route, ensure security and beautify the traditional rituals. All programs like Tilakotsav, Haldi, Puja-Matkor and Shri Ram-Marriage will be conducted with traditional customs. Mahant Kaushal Kishore Das, Chairman of the Temple Trust Committee, said that being the birthplace of Mata Janaki, this event has more sacred significance. In view of the large number of devotees, instructions have been given to make additional arrangements and the Municipal Corporation has been requested to improve the cleanliness system in the temple premises and surrounding areas.
Confluence of religiosity and cultural event
Mahant Kaushal Kishore Das said that the festival of Vivah Panchami is considered very important in Sanatan Dharma. On this date the divine marriage of Lord Shri Ram and Mata Janaki took place. He told that this time in Punaura Dham, preparations are being made to present the festival as a confluence of tradition and modernity, so that the coming devotees can experience cultural grandeur along with spiritual happiness. Special attention is also being given to important arrangements like parking, Prasad distribution, line management and medical facilities for the devotees coming to the festival.
Punaura Dham will get a new identity
The entire Punaura Dham complex will be specially decorated. Preparations are underway to decorate Janaki Temple, Sita Kund, Sita Preksha Griha, Yatri Niwas and other buildings of the complex with attractive lighting. There is a plan to illuminate the temple area with thousands of lamps, which will further enhance the divinity of the event. The responsibility of decoration has been entrusted to local artisans and voluntary organizations so that the entire complex appears in a traditional, grand and spiritual form. Devotees believe that like every year, this time also organizing Vivah Panchami in Punaura Dham will give new heights to the cultural-religious identity of Sitamarhi.
