Ghazipur News: 70% of CAT is counting, basic mathematics and logic. The rest is reasoning and common sense, but the real game is to keep the mind calm. IIM Trichy student Akash Tripathi has given some special tips regarding the exam.
Ghazipur: CAT 2025 exam is going to be held tomorrow. Akash Tripathi, a resident of Ghazipur and a student of IIM Trichy, told Local 18 that CAT is not difficult, but under pressure, students drop their scores. He told that many people had scored 90–95 percentile in the mock test, but in the real exam, they scored only 30–35 percentile in their first attempt, simply because they could not handle the pressure.
Akash says that 70% of CAT is counting, basic mathematics and logic. The rest is reasoning and common sense, but the real game is to keep the mind calm. Akash advised not to get influenced by people’s words. Do not be influenced at all by the words of evening slot students who come out after giving the exam. One gets scared of them and the mind gets blocked. Don’t read anything new at the last minute.
Don’t make this mistake at the last moment
Akash himself says that at the last moment I only did formulas and revision with the help of YouTube, this is the most effective method. Formula revision saves 30–40% score in CAT. Just remember that formula re-call matters more than solving. Akash says that half of the time of CAT aspirants is spent worrying about which coaching to take, which IIM to get at which percentile, will CAT pass without coaching?
‘Don’t think about topping’
He said in clear words that do not get fooled by percentile. First take the paper, then think about college. Many students, even after taking admission in IIM, drop out in the first year. There are bigger opportunities in life. There is a need to play right, not to top in CAT. Calm mind, remembering the formula and knowing how to choose questions, these three things help in clearing the paper.
