Amitabh Bachchan is the biggest superstar of Bollywood today, but there came a period in his life when everything fell apart. He had neither films, nor work, instead he had a loan of Rs 90 crore and 55 legal cases on his head. But in this difficult situation, two lessons from his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan did not let him break and laid the foundation for his second innings.
New Delhi. There was a darkest phase in the life of Bollywood’s shining star Big B i.e. Amitabh Bachchan. When he had no work and he had a huge debt and many cases were going on against him. Amitabh Bachchan’s life had completely changed in the late 90s. His company was badly bankrupt and he had a debt of about Rs 90 crore. The situation was so bad that even the house and personal properties were at risk. Bachchan tells that every day creditors used to come to his door asking for money. According to him, this was the most humiliating and painful period. Amidst all this, he also realized how the same people, who earlier stood in line to join him, moved away in times of trouble and some even turned against him.
The burden of 55 legal cases and bad advice
The situation became more difficult when about 55 cases were filed against him. Later he admitted that he used to sign many documents without understanding them and based on wrong advice, he assumed that everything would be fine. But when things went wrong, he had to face it alone. However, Mohabbatein gave a new direction to his career and his second innings started with this film. But it was not any film but the teachings of his father that took care of him mentally and emotionally.
Two lessons of father Harivansh Rai Bachchan became strength
Amitabh Bachchan often says that his father’s teachings helped him in difficult times. The first lesson was that if life goes according to your wish, then it is good; But if it doesn’t work, it’s even better, because some bigger power is thinking something else for you. He did not understand this in the beginning, but this learning became his strength in times of crisis. The second lesson was based on struggle. Once when he told his father that life seems like a fight, Harivansh Rai Bachchan calmly said that ‘as long as there is life, there will be struggle.’ This thinking saved him from getting disappointed and gave him the strength to move forward with new confidence every day.
Still active, strong and a source of inspiration
Today even at the age of 82, Amitabh Bachchan is working continuously. His engagement proves that no failure is final. Big B’s story tells that whether it is debt, case or career crisis – right thinking and family lessons can get a person out of every difficulty. His life journey is an inspiration for the youth today that decline cannot be the end but a new beginning.
