Turkey farming is considered more profitable than poultry farming. This is big business in America and Europe. Actually, it involves low cost and good earning in less time. Turkey rearing is now increasing rapidly in India also. Dr. Jagpal, scientist at Madhopur Krishi Vigyan Kendra, says that turkey meat is tasty and good for health. The risk of diseases is also less in this. It costs around Rs 150 per month to raise a male turkey. Its weight reaches 12 kg in 6–7 months. Turkey is sold in the market for Rs 400 to Rs 450 per kg, which gives good income.
