Farmer Bittu Kumar says that he got inspiration for farming from his father and grandfather, who have been doing traditional farming for years. In such a situation, he got information about mulching and scaffolding method from YouTube videos and by adopting this method, he is earning double the profit.
The crop is ready within 50 days
Further, farmer Bittu Kumar told that he had cultivated Barbati in the beginning of the month of September and the specialty of this crop is that this crop gets ready within 50 days and this gives the farmers the opportunity of continuous plucking, which leads to good income continuously. Cost also comes down.
The total cost of cultivating Barbati in an area of 60 decimals is Rs 25,000 and with good care, the production is 50 to 55 quintals, which he sells in the Petarwar market. At the same time, the average price of Barbati in the market is Rs 45 to Rs 50 and with an average price of Rs 45, net profit and double income can be earned from Rs 50 to Rs 2 lakh.
