Demand to set up special working group
CAT (CAIT) also demanded the Prime Minister to review the GST structure and set up a special working group at the central level to advise the government, which includes senior officials, representatives of CAT and independent tax experts.

CAT also suggested that a district GST working group can be formed in every district to facilitate smooth implementation of GST and increase the scope of tax and revenue. CAT said that some recent amendments in GST have given arbitrary and immoral powers to government officials. This is against the Prime Minister’s mission of ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance’.

Markets will be closed all over the country on February 26
Recently, CAT had said that all the commercial markets will be closed on February 26 across the country due to the Bharat Bandh call demanding a review of the provisions of GST. The organization has demanded a review of the tax system and tax slabs to make the GST system simple and rational so that even an ordinary businessman can easily follow the provisions of GST.
