Kodha Nagar Panchayat of Katihar freed the road from encroachment by running bulldozers on illegal constructions in Gerabari market, due to which the problem of jam was resolved and people heaved a sigh of relief.
The administration continues to take strict action against encroachers throughout Bihar. In this sequence, a big campaign was launched in Kodha Nagar Panchayat area of Katihar district. The Nagar Panchayat made the road completely encroachment-free by running bulldozers on the illegal constructions that had been going on for years in Gerabari market. Due to this action, people who have been troubled in the area for a long time have heaved a sigh of relief. According to local residents, shops, sheds and temporary constructions were built illegally on both sides of the road in Gerabadi market.
Due to these constructions, the main road had become quite narrow, due to which the problem of traffic jams arose daily. Especially during school hours, market hours and emergency situations, ambulances and essential services vehicles had to face a lot of trouble. Many times the local people also demanded removal of the encroachment, but the situation remained the same. Nagar Panchayat officials said that notices and warnings were given to the encroachers several times, but when the illegal encroachments were not removed despite repeated explanations, then this strict action had to be taken.
Campaign against encroachment will continue
In the presence of the administrative team, bulldozers were deployed and all the illegal constructions on both sides of the market were removed. A large number of police forces were deployed during the action. Many people welcomed this initiative of Nagar Panchayat and said that now the road has been widened and vehicular movement will be possible smoothly. People expressed happiness and said that the problem of jam in the market had affected their daily routine for years, but now the situation is expected to become normal. Nagar Panchayat officials say that the campaign against encroachment will continue in the future and wherever illegal constructions are found, action will be taken by identifying them. The administration has a clear message that any kind of encroachment in public places will not be tolerated. After this bulldozer action, the main road of Gerabari market is now looking completely clean and wide. Local people are calling this one of the most strict and effective campaigns of Kodha Nagar Panchayat.
