Kitchen Garden Tips: If flowers are not blooming even after buds have formed in marigold or rose plants, then the reason could be lack of nutrients or weakness of the roots. In such a situation, applying organic fertilizer to the roots at the right time strengthens the plants. By following this remedy with proper irrigation and sunlight, flowers start appearing within a few days.
Mukesh Pandey/Mirzapur: Flowering plants like marigold and roses are planted in pots or gardens of the house so that the house remains beautiful and fragrant, but many times, despite good care, these plants do not produce flowers or produce very few flowers. The reason for this could be lack of proper sunlight, fertilizer, water and pruning. If the marigold and rose plants in your house are not blooming, then this problem can be easily solved by adopting some important measures.
Both marigold and rose plants need plenty of sunlight. It is important for them to get at least 5-6 hours of direct sunlight every day. If the plants are kept in shade, then keep them in a place where they can easily get morning and afternoon sunlight. Due to lack of sunlight, plants only grow leaves and do not produce flowers.
The biggest reason for non-flowering is lack of nutrients. Add rotten cow dung or vermi compost once a month. Apart from this, by giving mustard cake water or banana peel fertilizer once in 15 days, plants start flowering. Fertilizer containing phosphorus and potash is especially beneficial for flowers.

Pruning the rose plant from time to time is very important. Cut off dry, weak and inward growing branches. Keep removing withered flowers and dry leaves from marigold also. Due to this, the plant’s energy is used to make new flowers.
Apply organic fertilizer every 15-20 days so that the plant continues to get adequate nutrition. Remove dry or withered leaves from the pot from time to time. This helps in the emergence of new buds. If the plant is infested with insects, use neem oil or herbal spray.
Due to insects the plants also become weak and flowers do not come. Spray neem oil or neem water once a week, this keeps away aphids, white flies and other insects. With proper sunlight, balanced water, timely fertilizer and regular pruning, marigold and rose plants can have abundant flowering.
