Senior BRS leader and former MP B Vinod Kumar told that in Khammam, about 200 km from Hyderabad, these leaders will attend the inauguration of the second phase of Telangana government’s eye screening program ‘Kanti Velugu’. He alleged that the spirit of the Constitution, including secularism, socialism and liberalism, is being weakened in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government. He said that BRS is trying to bring ‘alternative politics’ in the country.
Asked whether the Khammam public meeting could be seen as a step towards opposition unity in view of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, Kumar said it was not just a repeated ‘front’ formation and BRS would like to give ‘alternative politics’ to the people of the country. Meanwhile, BJP’s state unit president and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar targeted Chief Minister Rao, popularly known as KCR, for taking other state chief ministers to the Yadadri temple and said that the temples have become industry centers for the Kalvakuntla family.
