Gud Amla Jam Recipe: For us, winter season is not only about cold and fog, but also about healthy food items. At this time, there is abundance of Amla in the market and everyone is seen buying it. Amla, also known as Indian gooseberry, is a treasure trove of Vitamin C. Its regular consumption increases immunity, improves digestion and provides energy to the body. At the same time, jaggery is also eaten especially in winter. It is not only sweet in taste, but is also rich in iron and minerals, which helps in reducing fatigue and keeping the body warm. If you want to try something healthy and tasty in winter, then Jaggery Amla Jam is the most suitable option for it. This jam is safe, natural and full of nutrition compared to preservative-rich products available in the market. It is very easy to make it at home and once made, it can be stored for a long time. Both children and adults will like it and its taste increases with every meal.

Making Jaggery Amla Jam does not take much time, and the process does not require any complicated technology. With just a few simple ingredients and a little care, you can prepare this jam. In this recipe we will tell you step by step how this delicious jam can be made easily and without any mistakes.

necessary materials
-Fresh Amla – 500 grams
-Jaggery – 400 to 450 grams (adjust as per taste)
-Water – 1 cup
-Cinnamon powder – half teaspoon
-Cardamom powder – half teaspoon
-Ghee – 1 teaspoon (optional)

Method of preparation
1. Preparing Amla
First of all wash the gooseberries thoroughly. Boil water in a big vessel and add gooseberries to it and boil for 10-12 minutes, until they become soft. After boiling, cool the gooseberries and remove their seeds. After removing the seeds, cut the gooseberries into small pieces.

2. Preparing the paste
Prepare a smooth paste by putting chopped gooseberries in the mixer. If the paste seems thick then you can add a little water.

3. Making jaggery syrup
Pour 1 cup water in the pan and add jaggery in it and let it melt on medium flame. When the jaggery melts completely, filter it through a sieve so that there are no impurities in it.

4. Making Jam
Add prepared Amla paste in jaggery syrup and cook on medium flame while stirring continuously. When the mixture starts thickening, add cardamom powder, cinnamon powder and ghee into it. Ghee makes the jam shiny and spices add aroma to it.

5. Cooking and storing
Cook the jam for about 12-15 minutes. When the mixture thickens and starts shining and starts dripping from the spoon, then understand that the jam is ready. Let the jam cool completely and pour into clean, dry glass jars. It can be easily used for 2-3 months by keeping it in the refrigerator.

Uses and Benefits
You can eat Jaggery Amla Jam with bread, roti or paratha. Including it in children’s breakfast is also healthy. Amla contains high amount of Vitamin C and jaggery is rich in iron. This mixture provides warmth to the body in cold weather, increases immunity and also strengthens the digestive power.
