New Delhi: A boon therapy has arrived in the big government hospital of Delhi. Through which the body which has become lifeless due to stroke will also come back to life. Not only this, there may be a deep head injury or Parkinson’s problem or difficulty in walking. Apart from this, it will provide effective treatment for back pain and neck pain. The name of this therapy is Neuromodulation and Foot Pressure Analysis Laboratory which has been started in Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. This laboratory is running in room number 308 on the third floor in the OPD block of the hospital. It has been started in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Where a person from Bihar, who had lost speech and walking due to stroke, has got a new life and has now started speaking. His hands and legs have also started moving. His body has improved by 90%.
This is how the machine works
Dr. Chetan, Associate Professor of the department, said that this is the first PMR department in the country. Where there are both machines like transcranial magnetic stimulation with neuronavigation. He told that any patient who brings his MRI image i.e. report comes here. Whether he comes from OPD or Neuro department of our hospital or from anywhere else, first of all his MRI report is placed on neuronavigation and that part is seen. Where there is injury or the part which has stopped working. After that, the patient is made to sit on a chair and a probe is placed on the part of his brain which has been injured. It is found through neuronavigation. Then, through the probe, work is done to activate that part of the patient’s brain. This is the reason why the patient benefits quickly.
