Senior BJP MLA Dr. Prem Kumar was elected unopposed and unanimously as the next Speaker of Bihar Assembly. As soon as the formal announcement of the elections was made, slogans of “Har Har Mahadev” and “Jai Shri Ram” echoed in the House.

He defeated his main rival, Akhori Onkar Nath of Congress, by a decisive margin of 26,423 votes. Dr. Prem Kumar got a total of 90,878 votes in the election. This victory is another important success of his, which has confirmed his place among the leaders who have represented this seat for the longest period. The victory of 2025 increased his stature.
