Counting of votes continues for District Panchayat elections 2025 in Goa.
Goa Zilla Panchayat Election Results 2025 LIVE Updates: Counting of votes is underway for the District Panchayat Elections 2025 in Goa and initial trends appear to be in favor of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). BJP has won 5 seats here. Whereas Congress and Revolutionary Goans Party have won one seat each.
In this election held for a total of 50 seats in the state, a total of 226 candidates from various parties including BJP, Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Goa Forward Party (GFP) and Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) were in the fray. The results of these elections are being considered to decide the political equation before the 2027 assembly elections.
According to the State Election Commission, this time 70.81 percent voting was recorded in Goa. Out of approximately eight lakh voters, a large number of people exercised their franchise. Voting was conducted at 1,284 booths across the state.

Goa District Panchayat Election Result: Congress candidate Sumitra Pagi has won the Cola District Panchayat seat in Goa. Meanwhile, Congress candidate Carmelina Fernandes is leading in the Calangute Zilla Panchayat seat of North Goa district. On the other hand, Goa Forward Party (GFP) candidate Inasina Pinto is leading in Raiya Zilla Panchayat seat of South Goa district.

Goa Zilla Panchayat Election Results LIVE Updates: Congress-RGP won one seat each, AAP’s account not opened
Counting of votes for District Panchayat elections is in full swing in Goa. In the initial results, Congress has opened its account by winning one seat, while the regional party Revolutionary Goan Party (RGP) has also won one seat. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Goa Forward Party (GFP) and independent candidates have not been able to win any seat yet.
In this election, BJP had fielded candidates on 40 seats, Congress on 36, AAP on 42 and GFP on 9 seats. Of the total 226 candidates, 62 were independents. However, AAP has not been able to open an account here yet.

Goa Zilla Panchayat Election Results LIVE Updates: BJP’s dominance in Goa Zilla Panchayat elections, victory on 5 seats
BJP’s Samiksha Naik registered a big victory from Usgaon-Ganjam seat. He defeated Congress’s Manisha Usgaonkar by 2,932 votes. Whereas in Sankwale District Panchayat, BJP’s Sunil Gavas is leading with 4,476 votes. Congress candidate Vasant Naik is behind with 2,491 votes. BJP’s Siddharth Desai won from Sheldem seat. AAP’s James Maxi Fernandes, independent John Marshall Luis Baretto, Ramanand Anand Naik and Congress’s Rosario Mariano Fernandes were in the fray against him.
BJP’s Padmakar Arjun Malik won from Latambarsem seat. This seat was one of the high voting areas of North Goa. Apart from this, Namdev Babal Chari of BJP won Honda seat, while Floriano Fernandes of Congress won in Davorlim. Goa Forward Party’s Sahidanya Santosh Gawkar is leading in Rivona.

These District Panchayat elections of Goa are considered important in the politics of the state. District Panchayats are important for local development, Panchayati Raj and rural schemes.
