When will the swearing in take place?
Counting of votes for 1,199 local body elections held in two phases in Kerala continues at 8 am. First the postal ballots were counted and then the counting of votes cast through EVMs started. Counting of votes is going on in 244 centers and 14 District Magistrate offices. Some problems were reported regarding entry of booth agents and candidates at some counting centers including Thiruvananthapuram, Palakkad and Vadakara. These results will decide the direction of the campaign of political parties and alliances for the assembly elections to be held in Kerala in 2026. The swearing-in ceremony of the elected Panchayat members and city councilors will be held on December 21 at 10 am.
