There is discussion in political circles that this election can be held only in November. The letter issued by the State Election Commission has intensified the stir in Panchayat politics. According to the information issued under the signature of the Joint Election Commissioner, this time there is going to be a change in the reservation roster in the Panchayat elections. This means that the seat which was considered safe till now. It can go to any other category of account. In such a situation, the next election is not going to be easy for many veterans.

The last Panchayat general election year 2021 was held between August and December. In such a situation, preparations are being made to conduct the upcoming Panchayat General Elections 2026 within the stipulated time limit, before the end of the term. That means, Panchayat general elections will be held before December next year.

Elections have been held twice from the same roster
The Joint Election Commissioner has said that as per the provisions of Bihar Panchayat Raj Act, 2006, the process of reservation of posts is mandatory after every two consecutive Panchayat general elections. On this basis, before the Panchayat general elections in the year 2016, reservation for different posts of Gram Panchayat and Gram Kachari was decided. On this basis, two consecutive Panchayat elections have been held in 2016 and 2021. In this sequence, before the upcoming Panchayat General Election 2026, the process of reservation for different posts of Gram Panchayat and Gram Kachari will be completed on time.
According to experts, due to this reservation roster, this time new faces will be seen in the electoral battle in many panchayats. The old contenders will either have to change seats or prove their hold among the public afresh.
