Bihar-Jharkhand News Today LIVE: The winter session of the Assembly is going on in Jharkhand. Whose fifth and last day is today Thursday. Jharkhand Parliamentary Affairs Minister Radhakrishna Kishore on Wednesday proposed in the Assembly to change the name of Raj Bhawan in Ranchi to ‘Birsa Bhawan’. Apart from this, he also proposed to name the Raj Bhawan located in Dumka as ‘Sido-Kanhu Bhawan’. Kishore argued that Raj Bhavan is the property of the state government, hence the state government has the right to change the name. This proposal comes as part of a nationwide initiative to change colonial-era names. It is noteworthy that on the instructions of the Union Home Ministry, the official name of Raj Bhavan was changed to Lok Bhawan on December 3, but now the minister has proposed a new naming after the tribal heroes.
Jharkhand’s wild animals will be counted
The census of tigers and other wild animals in all the forest areas of Jharkhand will start from December 15. Chief Conservator of Forests and Field Director of Palamu Tiger Reserve (PTR) S R Natesh has been appointed the nodal officer for this comprehensive process. This calculation will be done both digitally as well as physically using the ‘Ecological App’. Digital counting will be completed by 22 December. The remaining count, which will include approximately 1,600 staff and volunteers. It is expected to be completed by April 2026. The last tiger census was conducted between October 2021 and March 2022.

Former MP Vijay Krishna left RJD
Prominent leader of Bihar’s socialist stream and former MP Vijay Krishna has left Rashtriya Janata Dal. He wrote an emotional letter to party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and announced his resignation from RJD’s primary membership and all organizational posts and his retirement from active politics. Vijay Krishna has called it a “difficult but final decision” to distance himself from party politics. His political career has been quite impressive; Especially in the 2004 Lok Sabha elections, when he made headlines by defeating the then Railway Minister Nitish Kumar by 37 thousand votes.
