Bihar Anti-Encroachment Drive: To prevent encroachment on land, footpaths, drains or public places in Patna city, the city administration has now chosen the path of regular and organized action. Under this scheme, this action will no longer be a ‘special campaign’, but will become a part of the everyday routine of the city.
Patna. Efforts to make Bihar’s capital Patna encroachment free have now become stronger. This campaign, which is being run on the instructions of Bihar government, will now run regularly. For this, a calendar will be prepared for every month, in which the encroachment places will be marked and officers and task forces will be deployed there. The Municipal Corporation has decided to prepare a calendar of removal of encroachments every month or at fixed intervals, so that there is not just haphazard action against illegal encroachments, but a systematic, regular and pre-planned campaign. Divisional Commissioner Animesh Kumar Parashar has instructed the City Management Unit to prepare its outline. With this step, continuous action will be taken in the entire Patna urban area including Danapur, Phulwari Sharif, Khagaul.
regular campaign against encroachment
To make the campaign more effective, the city management unit itself will prepare the calendar. Officials of necessary departments will also be included in this. A copy of the calendar will also be available to the Divisional Commissioner, DM, SDO and Municipal Commissioner. The Commissioner clearly said that coordination between the district administration, police, municipal corporation and other departments is necessary to remove encroachment. Everyone will have to join together and take action. Last year, considering the increasing encroachment in cities as a big problem, the government had constituted a separate team. The city management unit includes one ADM (Municipal Administration), three DSPs (Municipal Administration), three Municipal Magistrates and more than 100 officials. Additional Municipal Commissioners have also been attached to the Urban Development and Housing Department. Municipal executive officers were deployed in municipal councils.
What is the new plan?
- The Municipal Administration (Municipal Corporation) has launched a calendar-based anti-encroachment scheme.
Under this, encroachment complaints, prior information, measurement and action will be organized regularly. - Public places like footpaths, roadsides, public drains or drains, parks, drains etc. which have been illegally encroached upon will be given priority.
- The aim of the campaign is not just to take big action once or twice, but to ensure continuous cleanliness, order and adherence to rules in the city.
