Varanasi News: Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0 program was organized on Tuesday at Namo Ghat in Varanasi, in which CM Yogi Adityanath was also present. Meanwhile, a drunken man broke the security cordon and reached the stage, after which the commotion intensified for some time.
Varanasi: A major security lapse came to light on Tuesday (December 02, 2025) during the Kashi Tamil Sangam program going on at Namoghat. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was present in the program, when suddenly a drunken youth broke the security cordon and reached the stage. The alert commando immediately swooped in and controlled the young man, thereby averting the possibility of any untoward incident.
ACP Vidush Saxena told that the name of the arrested youth is Joginder Gupta. His initial interrogation revealed that the mental condition of the young man is not good and he is also undergoing treatment. Family members have also confirmed that he often remains under the influence of alcohol and keeps doing such acts. The family told that he is undergoing treatment due to his mental condition.
Interrogation of the young man continues
Regarding the incident, ACP said that he has talked to Joginder’s brother. At present the interrogation of the youth is going on and necessary legal action is being taken. Let us tell you that the inauguration of Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0 was going on at Namo Ghat, during which this incident happened. The police is now investigating the entire matter and trying to find out how the youth managed to reach CM Yogi by dodging the security personnel.

CM Yogi expressed happiness
The government says this grand celebration of the enduring cultural and spiritual bond between Tamil Nadu and Kashi, starting from December 2, 2025, will unite students, scholars, artisans, teachers and delegates for rich exchanges and immersive experiences. CM Yogi had expressed his happiness about the program by posting on social media. CM wrote, ‘This big program starting with the theme Let’s Learn Tamil will once again become a medium to unite the culture and traditions of North and South India. Under the guidance of PM Modi, today’s ‘New India’ is at the peak of Vedic and cultural consciousness.
