Kanpur: There is a big relief for the travelers of Kanpur city of UP. Now reaching the railway station from the metro station has become much easier than before. Earlier, passengers were allowed to travel only through Gate No. 2, due to which one had to travel a long and winding route to reach the railway station, but now Gate No. 1 of the metro station has been directly connected to the front part of the railway station. With this, both the gates have been opened and the journey has become much easier, faster and comfortable than before.
UPMRC Managing Director Sushil Kumar inaugurated the new route and also inspected the under-construction stations of Corridor-1 and Corridor-2 and reviewed the pace and quality of the works.
Easy path ready between construction of railway building
Kanpur Central Metro Station is located near Ghantaghar intersection and the construction of a 7-storey railway station building under the Amrit Bharat Scheme is also going on at a fast pace at the same place. Due to this, making a direct and comfortable route from the metro to the railway station was a big challenge. Initially, Gate No. 1 was connected to the railway route, but the stairs and accelerators installed there could drop the passengers only to the first floor. After this, passengers had to use the stairs of the under-construction building, which made the journey inconvenient.
Keeping in view the convenience of the passengers, the metro administration redesigned Gate No. 1. By building new stairs and a new accelerator, it was directly connected to the ramp of the railway station. Now as soon as the passengers get down from the metro, they can directly reach the railway station without any hassle. This will not only save time but has also eliminated congestion and inconvenience.
First train of Corridor-2 unveiled
Here, taking another step forward in metro development, the first train of Corridor-2 was also unveiled. The color and design of this train has also been kept the same as the trains of Corridor-1. Managing Director Sushil Kumar said that Metro is strengthening multi-modal connectivity. The aim is to connect the major railway stations, bus stands and crowded areas of the city with the metro network. In the same direction, Jhakarkati bus station will also soon be connected to the metro network, which will make both local and external travel more convenient.
The biggest problem of the passengers of Kanpur has ended with the new route of Gate No. 1. Now after getting down from the metro, you will neither have to cover extra distance nor have to face any under construction area to reach the railway station. Traveling has now become easier, faster and completely comfortable than ever before.
