Chhattisgarh Naxalite Surrender: This morning, the notorious commander and Central Committee Member (CCM) of Naxal organization Ramdher Majji surrendered before the police along with his entire group in Bakarkatta area of Chhattisgarh. Ramdher Majji was long considered one of the top leaders of the Naxalite organization. His stature within the organization was so strong that he was considered equal to Hidma. The security agencies had declared a reward of Rs 1 crore on him. His surrender is being considered a big success for the security forces.
After the surrender of Ramdher and his associates, a big claim is being made that the MMC zone (Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh) is now almost Naxal free. This area has been a hotbed of Naxalite activities for many years, where police and security forces had to conduct continuous operations. In such a situation, the surrender of a big Naxalite leader along with 12 other active cadres is an important step towards establishing peace in this area.
There were a total of 12 Maoist cadres who surrendered, whose designations and weapons they possessed were given as follows –
Ramdher Majji – CCM – AK-47
Chandu Usendi – DVCM – 30 Carbine
Lalita – DVCM – Without Weapons
Junkie – DVCM – INSAS
Prem – DVCM – AK-47
Ramsingh Dada – ACM – 303 Rifle
Sukesh Pottam – ACM – AK-47
Lakshmi – PM – INSAS
Sheela – PM – INSAS
Sagar – PM – SLR
Poem – PM – 303 Rifle
Yogita – PM – without weapons
Now the question arises – who is Ramdher Majji?
Ramdher Majji was counted among the top level leaders in the structure of the Naxalite organization. The post of CCM i.e. Central Committee Member is almost the central leadership of the Naxalite organization, where only selected and trusted senior members are included. Ramdher was active in the forests for a long time and his role has been said to be in many major activities of the organization. His hold was not only strong in the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh but he was also considered to have influence in the Naxalite areas of neighboring states Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
For a long time, police and security forces were running a campaign to arrest him or get him to surrender. His surrender is being seen as the weakness of the Naxalites and the success of the surrender policy of the state government. It is being said that his arrest or surrender has dealt a deep blow to the Naxalite organization and this may further weaken the Naxalite influence among the youth.
