Sai Cabinet Meeting Decision: Chhattisgarh government has taken a big decision regarding the cases of surrendered Naxalites. The state cabinet has decided that all the cases pending against the Naxalites who have surrendered before the police and administration will be closed. For this, special committees will be formed at the district level, which will look after the process of disposal of cases. At the same time, the cabinet subcommittee at the state level will take the final decision in this direction. This step of the government is being considered an important initiative towards encouraging the Naxalites returning to the mainstream and establishing peace in the state. This will give assurance to those Naxalites that when they leave violence and return to the mainstream of society, they will get legal protection and relief.
Apart from this, these decisions were approved in the cabinet meeting-
1. The Council of Ministers has approved the process related to disposal/withdrawal of criminal cases registered against surrendered Naxalites.
2. The Council of Ministers approved the draft of Chhattisgarh Public Trust (Amendment of Provisions) (Second) Bill, 2025 to amend 14 Acts with the aim of making various laws of the state relevant to the times and citizen-friendly.
3. In the meeting of the Council of Ministers, Chhattisgarh Appropriation Bill, 2025 was approved regarding the presentation of the first supplementary estimate year 2025-2026 in the Assembly.
4 Maoist surrender
Meanwhile, four Maoist cadres in Kanker district have recently surrendered. These include two women and two men. A total reward of Rs 23 lakh was declared on all of them. There was a reward of Rs 8 lakh on Kajal alias Ranjeeta, Rs 5 lakh on Manjula, while a reward of Rs 5-5 lakh was declared on Vilas and Ramsay respectively. Kajal was involved in the Madanwada encounter several years ago, in which 29 soldiers including SP Vinod Choubey were martyred. The surrender of Naxalites who were involved in such big cases is a news of relief for the state. Officials say that the surrendered Naxalites can now return to the mainstream and move towards a better life for the society and their families.
Some Naxalites are still active
However, there are still some Naxalites active in the Naxal affected areas of Kanker district who have not surrendered. Police officials have warned them and appealed to them to return to the mainstream soon, so that they can get the benefits of legal relief and government schemes.
This step sends a clear message that the state government is making serious efforts to end violence and bring Naxalites into the mainstream. The initiative to provide legal protection to the surrendered Naxalites and re-establish them in the society will strengthen both peace and security in the state. The state government believes that this policy will instill confidence in the young Naxalites and they will leave the path of violence and return to the mainstream of society. Besides, this policy will also send a positive message to the local people that they can leave the Naxalite life and choose a safe life.
