BHU School Teaching Vacancy 2025: If you are in the teaching sector then this news is a golden chance for you. Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has announced a big recruitment for its schools. A total of 55 posts are vacant which includes Principal, PGT, TGT and PRT. The highest salary of a principal is up to Rs 78,800 per month. Applications are going online. BHU Jobs 2025: How many posts are vacant?
This time a total of 55 recruitments have been made. Out of these, 3 posts are for Principal, 9 posts are for Post Graduate Teacher (PGT), maximum 36 posts are for Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) and 7 posts are for Primary Teacher (PRT). Meaning there is opportunity at every level. Whether you want to teach primary children or 11th-12th class students.
Who can apply?
To become a Principal, you must have at least 50% marks in Master’s degree, B.Ed and experience as Principal, Vice-Principal or PGT in a government school. For PGT, Master’s degree (50% marks) in the relevant subject or B.Ed with integrated M.Sc course from Regional College of Education of NCERT is required. To become a TGT, it is mandatory to have graduation with 50% marks in the relevant subject or 4 years integrated course and passing B.Ed plus CTET. For PRT, you should have 50% marks in 12th, D.El.Ed or B.El.Ed or Diploma in Special Education and passed CTET i.e. without CTET, you will not get entry in TGT and PRT.
What is the age limit?
The age limit for Principal has been kept from 35 to 55 years, whereas the maximum age for PGT is 40 years, for TGT is 35 years and for PRT is 30 years. The good thing is that SC, ST, OBC, disabled and ex-servicemen will get age relaxation as per the rules of the Government of India.
How will the selection happen?
First your application and eligibility will be checked. After that, if needed, there will be a written examination. Syllabus will come later. Then there will be presentation and interview. Those who are finally selected will have their documents verified and only then will they receive the appointment letter. Meaning, just filling the form will not suffice, you will be selected only if you work hard.
How much salary and allowances will I get?
Everyone will get money as per the 7th Pay Commission. Principal will get Rs 78,800 basic pay in Level-12, PGT will get Rs 47,600 in Level-8, TGT will get Rs 44,900 in Level-7 and PRT will get Rs 35,400 per month basic salary in Level-6. On top of this, you will also get all the regular allowances of BHU like DA, HRA, medical, exemption in children’s fees etc.
How to apply?
First of all go to the official recruitment website of BHU bhu.ac.in/rac. Do a new registration there. Log in with the username and password received after registration and fill the form. Scan your photo, signature and all certificates and upload them. If you belong to General, EWS or OBC category, then deposit the application fee online. SC/ST/Disabled and women are exempted from the fee. After submitting the form, take a print out of it. Now self-attest all the necessary documents, put them in an envelope and send it by speed post or registered post to this address – Registrar (Recruitment and Evaluation Cell), Holkar House, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221005. The last date for online application is 5 January 2026 and the last date for receipt of hard copy is 10 January 2026.
