Himachal Traffic Rules: In Himachal Pradesh, cameras have been installed on many roads including Chandigarh Manali National Highway under Intelligent Traffic Management System and with the help of these cameras the police issue challans. But now RTOs have also been given power by the Sukhu government and they can also issue challan for breaking the rules.
Shimla. Now all RTO offices in Himachal Pradesh will be able to issue challan online through Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS). The state government has started the process of giving access to ITMS to RTO offices. For this, coordination is being done between RTO offices and police. Earlier, with the help of these cameras, only the police used to issue challans whereas the RTO office employees had to set up checkpoints to issue challans. But now the employees of RTO offices will also be able to crack down on those who violate traffic rules while sitting in their offices.
RTO Mandi Naveen Sharma said that the process of giving access to ITMS to RTO offices is going on. As soon as this access is available, those who violate traffic rules will be punished right from the office.
Now all types of challans are issued through ITMS. Seeing the cameras installed on the road, the only thought that comes to people’s mind is that only over speeding challans are issued through them. Because most of the people have to face challan due to over speeding. But with the help of these cameras, now challans are also issued for violation of other rules, in which online challans are being issued even if the documents of the vehicle are not complete. With the help of these cameras, online entry of the vehicle is done where all the documents of the vehicle are visible. If there is any deficiency in someone’s documents, then his challan is issued on that basis. These cameras even check the driver without a seat belt and issue a challan.
RTO Mandi Naveen Sharma said that earlier all the checking had to be done by stopping the vehicles but now with the help of these cameras everything is checked online, which is helping in tightening the noose on those who violate traffic rules.
Coordination between police and RTO is also necessary
Coordination between police and RTO offices is also necessary for the processing of ITMS challan. Because different challans are not issued for the same vehicle, departmental work is going on to ensure complete transparency on this issue. It will be implemented only after examining all these formalities and departmental work in this direction is going on at a very fast pace.
