Una. The district administration has come into full action mode to crack down on criminal activities and illegal businesses in Una district of Himachal Pradesh. Considering the seriousness of the situation after the recent firing in Lalsingi near the district headquarters, the administration has intensified the campaign to strictly bring law and order back on track.
Late on Wednesday night, Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal and SP Amit Yadav themselves took to the streets and conducted a surprise inspection of the police blockades on the borders of the district with Punjab. During this time, the officers raided some dhabas and investigated the activities there, while also interrogating the people roaming unnecessarily on the streets and investigating their identity and purpose of movement.
After the firing, DC has issued strict instructions to control the mining mafia. Also, a complete ban on the sale of liquor after 10 pm has been implemented in the district. Police and administrative teams are patrolling different areas to ensure compliance with this instruction. In order to curb gun culture, the administration has also instructed licensed persons to deposit their weapons in the respective police station areas. DC Una Jatin said that keeping the law and order situation of the district safe and strong is the top priority. Taking this mission forward, all the orders issued recently are being strictly followed.
SP Una Amit Yadav said that some orders have been issued by the district administration to curb illegal activities, every possible effort is being made to strictly follow those orders. SP Una said that disobedience to administrative orders will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against those breaking the rules. He said that this entire action is being taken keeping in mind the safety of the people of the district, hence everyone should cooperate in this.
What steps have been taken so far
Recently Congress leader Ashu Puri was murdered in Una district. Bullets were fired in a clash between two groups of Congress. After this the government and administration were surrounded. Now liquor vends and bars in Una will not open after 10 pm. At the same time, instructions have been given to deposit the licensed weapons in the police station. Mining activities have been banned at night.
District Magistrate Una Jatin Lal, while amending the orders issued with the aim of strengthening law and order, has provided two days additional time to the licensed gun holders in the prescribed time limit for depositing arms and ammunition. Now all the license holders will have to compulsorily deposit their weapons by November 28. He clarified that in case of violation of the order, the weapons licenses of the concerned persons will be suspended and no additional date will be given. The DC informed that it was found that some license holders could not deposit their weapons within the stipulated period as they were out of the state. In view of this, it has been decided to extend the time limit. This order has been issued under Section 163 of BNSS and will come into effect with immediate effect and will remain effective till further orders.
