Bengaluru News: A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from the country’s IT capital Bengaluru. Building a house for working people in Bengaluru city is a lifelong dream. Anyone is ready to work hard to some extent to fulfill this dream. But what could be worse than losing one’s life in pursuit of the dream of a house? A dream house being built in Nallurahalli, Bengaluru suddenly became the silence of death. 45-year-old former software engineer Murali Govindaraju’s life came to a halt at the same incomplete construction site where he had started building his house. The family alleges that continuous torture, threats and extortion forced them to take such a step. This incident raised questions in the entire area whether a dream house can kill someone?
Murali’s dream was not just to have a house, but to build a safe place for his family, wife Durgadevi and children Kanishtha and Deshita. According to the family members, the pain of the two people who were repeatedly harassed and mentally tortured allegedly in connivance with some civic officials is clearly reflected in the 10-page suicide note.
What is the whole matter?
According to the family’s complaint, Murali had purchased a plot in Nallurahalli from one of his relatives in 2018. Here he was preparing a house for his family. But on October 25, two women named Usha Nambiar and Shashi Nambiar reached the site 10-15 times and started demanding Rs 20 lakh. The family alleges that due to non-payment of the amount, these two women along with some Greater Bengaluru Authority officials started harassing Murali repeatedly. This stress worsened his mental condition.
How did this painful incident happen?
It has been said in the complaint that pressure was increased on Murali even on the day of the incident. He left home at around 6 in the morning and went straight to the ongoing construction site. After some time, he committed suicide by hanging himself with an iron hook. When carpenter Ganesha reached work at around 9:30, he saw Murali’s body and immediately informed the family. Police also found a 10-page suicide note from the spot.
Why did the family suspect a conspiracy?
Murali’s mother said that her son was becoming a victim of continuous mental torture. Their demand is that strict legal action should be taken against Usha and Shashi and an investigation should be conducted whether some officers were also involved in this harassment. Police have registered the case and started investigation.
What does the family want?
- Strict action against Usha Nambiar and Shashi Nambiar.
- Investigation of mental harassment and extortion.
- Action should also be taken against all the officers involved.
- Justice to Murali and security to the family.
