A new controversy has started in Parliament regarding ban on slogans like Jai Hind and Vande Mataram. It has been said in the bulletin of Parliament that to maintain the dignity and seriousness of the proceedings of the House, there should be no sloganeering of Thanks, Thank You, Jai Hind, Vande Mataram or any other kind. For this, parliamentary customs and traditions have been cited. The opposition has expressed displeasure with this decision and has called it an attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party government.
