Jitan Ram Manjhi Controversial statement On Bangladesh formation: At the function of Hindustani Awam Morcha in Gaya, Jitan Ram Manjhi called the formation of Bangladesh a historical mistake. He said that separation of Bangladesh from India in the past was a historical mistake. If Bangladesh had remained a part of India, then the atrocities being committed on Hindus there today and restrictions on prayers would not have been possible. Also talked about fulfilling the promise of Rajya Sabha seat.
Gayaji: Was it a mistake to separate Bangladesh? This is not being said by us but by the Central Government Minister and our patron Jitan Ram Manjhi. Actually, a felicitation ceremony for the newly elected MLAs of Hindustani Awam Morcha Secular Party was organized in the auditorium located at Haridas Seminary in Gaya district of Bihar. In this, Union Minister and Patron of HAM Party Jitan Ram Manjhi gave such a statement, which has created a stir in the political circles. Only three of the five newly elected MLAs were present at the ceremony. While representatives of two came. Everyone was given a grand welcome by garlanding them.
Separation of Bangladesh is a historical mistake
Manjhi made very sensitive and controversial remarks at the function regarding the relations between Bangladesh and India. He said that separation of Bangladesh from India in the past was a historical mistake. If Bangladesh had remained a part of India, then the atrocities being committed on Hindus there today and restrictions on prayers would not have been possible. According to political analysts, his statement can become a subject of massive debate. Because in this a foreign sovereignty and past decisions have been questioned.
Said this about Rajya Sabha seat
Besides, Manjhi also clarified his position regarding the Rajya Sabha seat. He said that I had to get two seats during the Lok Sabha elections. Also promised to give a Rajya Sabha seat. So now that promise has to be fulfilled. Today we are not a recognized party. For this it is necessary to have eight MLAs. But I got six seats in the elections. Five MLAs won in this. If he does not get a chance in the Rajya Sabha, he will neither leave the alliance nor turn his back on his colleagues. He stressed that in politics, principles and trust are more important than position. My aim is not to hold any personal position but to strengthen the voice of Dalits, backward and deprived classes.
The statement created a stir
Political experts believe that Manjhi’s statement on Bangladesh and history has created a stir in the party and the alliance. His statement not only raises questions on foreign policy, but can also become an issue of new debate in electoral and caste politics. At the same time, his clarity regarding Rajya Sabha also indicates that Manjhi’s political ambitions are based on principles and social welfare. But his language can give rise to outright political controversies.
