India’s NASM-SR successfully tested in February 2025, with high accuracy and Man-in-Loop feature. Pakistani ASBM is currently limited to demonstration only and does not have technical features like re-targeting, indigenous seeker and real combat capability. The Indian missile had shown effectiveness in the actual war scenario, whereas the Pakistani missile is currently limited to only propaganda and strategic signals.
New Delhi. Today India’s enemy Pakistan released a video. In this video, Pak Navy claimed to successfully test anti-ship ballistic missile. India had successfully tested anti-ship missile in cruise mode on similar lines in February this year. In such a situation, the big question now is how effective is this missile of Pakistan. Is this missile even capable of standing in front of the Indian ballistic missile or not? Let us tell you about it in detail. Actually, this missile of Pakistan is nothing more than water and less tea in front of the Indian Navy. This testing has been done only for optics i.e. for show in front of the people and media of Pakistan.
Why is India’s Naval Anti-Ship Missile the best?
India had set a new direction for the strategic balance in South Asia by successfully testing the Naval Anti-Ship Missile (NASM-SR) in February 2025. This missile was launched from a seeking helicopter of the Indian Navy and it directly hit the small ship. It has a Man-in-Loop feature, which allows changing the target during flight. Additionally, advanced technologies such as indigenous imaging infra-rate seeker, fiber optic gyroscope-based INS and high-bandwidth data link system make it highly accurate. The missile had accomplished all its mission objectives.
Pakistan still has to roll a lot of papad
At the same time, Pakistan’s indigenous anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) which has been tested requires a lot of improvement. Pakistani Navy claims that this missile can deliver accurate strikes on both sea and land. The test took place in the presence of Navy and scientists and was said to be based on indigenous technology. But according to experts, Pakistan’s missile lacks re-targeting capability, high accuracy and indigenous seeker technology like NASM-SR. This missile currently appears to be limited to demonstration and strategic indications only, whereas the Indian NASM-SR has tested and proven performance in actual combat scenarios.
Comparison of missiles between India and Pakistan
• India NASM-SR: Man-in-Loop, High Accuracy, Infrared Seeker, Live Data Feed, Advanced Guidance System.
• Pakistan ASBM: Claims to attack ships and land, claims modern guidance, actual capability not clear.
Pakistan could not prove technical capability
The Indian missile is technologically far ahead of the Pakistani option. NASM-SR not only showed success in testing but also proved effective in actual use. On the other hand, Pakistan’s ASBM is currently limited to announcement and promotion only, while many questions remain on the technical and production capacity. India’s NASM-SR missile has strengthened its maritime power and strategic superiority in South Asia while Pakistan is still limited to showing its capability only at the demonstration level.
