Baba Adhav Death: Babasaheb Pandurang Adhav, popularly known as Baba Adhav, was considered a pillar of the social and labor movements of Maharashtra. He was the driving force behind the establishment of ‘Hamal Panchayat’, which is a labor union. Baba Adhav died due to sudden heart failure.
Pune. A very sad news has come out from Pune, Maharashtra. Famous social worker Dr. Babasaheb Pandurang Adhav passed away on Monday night. He breathed his last at the age of 95. He was ill for a long time. Baba Adhav dedicated his entire life for the downtrodden people of the society. He was a very strong voice for the rights of Dalits, tribals and laborers. His departure has created a huge void in the social world. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over his demise. He said that Baba Adhav will always be remembered for his social service. Baba Adhav continued to struggle for more than six decades. He was considered a strong pillar of labor movements in Maharashtra.
Heart attack during treatment: Colleague Nitin Pawar told that his health had suddenly deteriorated. After this he was admitted to a private hospital. He was undergoing treatment there for about two weeks. The doctors had kept him on advanced medical support. Despite all efforts he could not be saved. He suffered cardiac arrest around 8.25 pm on Monday night. After this he died. He has two sons, Aseem and Ambar, in his family.
Hamal Panchayat and Social Struggle: Baba Adhav is known for the establishment of ‘Hamal Panchayat’. This is a major labor union. He organized porters and rickshaw pullers. He fought a long struggle to get justice for the construction worker. He also fought a big battle against caste discrimination. He started a revolutionary movement like ‘One Village One Panawatha’. Its objective was to bring equality in the society. He was a staunch supporter of the ideology of searching for truth.
PM Modi paid tribute: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences on social media platform ‘X’. He wrote that Baba Adhav will be remembered for his social service. He worked to strengthen the backward people. The PM said that he is deeply saddened by his passing. My prayers are with his family and loved ones. His life is an inspiration for others.
CM Fadnavis and Shinde expressed grief: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis called it a very sad news. He said that Baba Adhav fought for the rights of the deprived. He became a support to the destitute people. Deputy CM Eknath Shinde also paid tribute to him. Shinde said that he was a pillar of the social and labor movement. The social equality movement has suffered a big loss due to his departure. He had given the attackers a sense of self-respect.
