There is a possibility of avalanches above 2500 meters in Anantnag, Bandipur, Baramulla, Doda, Kishtwar, Kulgam, Kupwara, Poonch and Ramban districts in the next 24 hours. People living in these areas have been advised to take precautions and avoid going to avalanche prone areas.

He said Pahalgam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district received 13 inches of snowfall, Kokernag eight inches, Qazigund six inches and Shopian four inches in the last 24 hours.

According to officials, there was light snowfall in Srinagar, Ganderbal and some other plains. He told that there was intermittent rain in some other areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
