Love Marriage: Ketan Patel, resident of Nawada district of Bihar, married Australian painter Tessa Bartholomew as per Hindu customs at COI Club in Patna, in which a unique confluence of Indian and Australian culture was seen.
Ketan Patel, resident of Nawada district of Bihar, and Australian painter Tessa Bartholomew got married as per Indian customs. At the COI Club in Danapur, Patna, they took seven rounds with Hindu rituals and pledged to become each other’s life partners. A unique confluence of two cultures was seen in the wedding ceremony.
Ketan Patel is the son of Ranjit Kumar Patel, vice president of Nawada District Advocates Association, and grandson of senior advocate Madan Prasad. Presently he is working as a Research Scientist of Chemistry at the University of Adelaide, Australia and is doing research on Hydrogen. Tessa Bartholomew is a famous Australian artist, whose paintings have been displayed on international platforms.
Tesa’s entire family reached India from Australia for the wedding. His father, John Bartholomew, played county cricket in the Birmingham Shield League. He also became a part of the ceremony. They were also joined by Tessa’s mother Caroline, sister Lynsey Kitt Tutel, brother-in-law Dan John Tutel and the family’s children.

Tesa said that the friendly energy of Indian culture has always attracted her. At the same time, Ketan said that despite living abroad, his connection with Indian traditions has always been deep. Both of them met in a cultural program organized in Australia. Friendship gradually turned into love and today they resolved to stay with each other for the rest of their lives.
