New Delhi. The Fact Check Unit of Press Information Bureau (PIB) has declared a letter going viral on social media as false. It was claimed that the letter was allegedly written by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, but the PIB Fact Check Unit has made it clear that this letter is fake. This fake letter was spreading rapidly on social media, in which it was being said that the Defense Minister has expressed concern over the sensitive report of the Indian Air Force becoming public.
PIB warned on its official
PIB also said that documents should not be shared without verification. Spreading false information can be dangerous, especially in matters related to national security. Avoid spreading false information and rely only on official sources of the Government of India for correct information. If any suspicious document is found then send it to PIB Fact Check.
This fake letter was dated 22nd November and ‘Personal Confidential’ was written on it. An attempt was made to show that there was any disagreement or concern within the Defense Department, but PIB declared this to be completely false. PIB said that such efforts are made to mislead the public and create a wrong perception against the country’s forces. The government has appealed to citizens to verify any information before taking it forward.
PIB has already warned that many such cases are fake. Recently, a video of Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi went viral, which was made with AI. PIB had also declared it fake in its fact check. PIB clarified that this video was spread by Pakistani propaganda accounts.
