Bilaspur News: Many youth still struggle with the CGPSC exam pattern and selection process. In such a situation, Ajay Kumar, the candidate selected in CGPSC, in a special conversation with Local 18, shared his preparation, stages of the exam and interview experience in detail. He said that CGPSC is a well-planned and transparent process in which the candidate is examined in depth from his knowledge ability to practical approach. In how many stages is CGPSC exam conducted?
CGPSC exam is conducted in three different stages, 1. Prelims, 2. Mains, 3. Interview. Ajay Kumar explains that “Preparation for each stage has to be done with a different strategy, only then success is possible.”
How many papers are there in Prelims and Mains?
Prelims consists of 2 papers, while Mains consists of 7 papers. Prelims Paper: General Studies, General Knowledge and Aptitude and Mains Paper: Essay, General Studies 1, General Studies 2, General Studies 3, General Studies 4, General Studies 5, General Studies 6 According to Ajay, “The ability to write in Mains is what makes your real identity.”
In which languages is CGPSC exam conducted?
CGPSC exam is available in both Hindi and English languages. The papers are bilingual and candidates can answer in any language as per their convenience. Ajay says, “There is no pressure regarding language, just the understanding of the subject should be strong.”
What is asked in CGPSC interview?
In the interview, the candidate’s personality, decision making ability, administrative approach, understanding of current events and state related knowledge are tested. Ajay explains, “The atmosphere in the interview is very calm. They do not see your nervousness but your ability to think.
How many people are there in the interview board?
Usually there are 4 to 5 members in the interview board.
It consists of a chairman and other administrative/expert members. Ajay says, “Every member is very professional, their aim is only to check your eligibility.”
This is how CGPSC ranking is decided, this is how postings are available from general merit to category wise rank.
After the release of results in CGPSC, candidates are ranked in two ways – one is General Merit Rank and the other is Category Wise Rank. The general merit rank is made on the basis of marks of all the candidates from the entire state, while the category wise rank is decided as per the reserved categories like OBC, SC, ST. Posting is also given on the basis of this rank. Those with the highest rank get priority for posts like Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Tehsildar, District Registrar, Assistant Director, Food Inspector, Commercial Tax Officer. That is, the better your rank is, the better and preferred post you get first, and then the available posts are allotted to other candidates in the order of rank.
