On Wednesday night in Chapra, miscreants kidnapped Dr. Sajal Kumar from near his residence. Near Municipal Chowk, the doctor showed wisdom and jumped out of the moving car. The miscreants also opened fire. But they narrowly escaped. The police is investigating the matter.
Chhapra (Saran): A very sensational incident has come to light in Chapra city of Bihar late on Wednesday night. Criminals tried to kidnap a private doctor in the city police station area, but the doctor’s wisdom and bravery saved him from death. The armed miscreants tried to spread panic by firing, but after failing, they fled leaving the car behind. During the investigation in the case, there was an encounter between the police and the criminals late in the evening. The police shot two miscreants in the legs. Both the criminals were seriously injured in the encounter that took place near Enai of Rivilganj. After which he was also admitted to Sadar Hospital.
Attack occurred while returning from clinic
The incident took place on the night of 17 December. Dr. Sajal Kumar, director of ‘Kumar Health Care Research Centre’ located in Dahyanwa of Nagar police station, was returning to his residence in Sadhanapuri after completing the work from his clinic. As soon as his car reached near the house, four masked miscreants, who were already in ambush, surrounded the car with weapons. The miscreants took Dr. Sajal, his driver Virendra and residence attendant Nitish hostage and started taking the car rapidly towards the outskirts of the city.
Defeat Death:
The doctor jumped in the fog. The miscreants were running away from the doctor through different routes of the city. Then the speed of the vehicle slowed down due to dense fog near Municipality Chowk. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Dr. Sajal Kumar opened the car door and jumped out of the moving vehicle onto the road. Seeing the doctor running away, the miscreants also fired at him, but fortunately he escaped. Seeing this courage of the doctor, the criminals got scared and started driving the car at high speed.
Accident near DM residence
The kidnappers first tried to go towards Mauna Chowk, but the route there was closed due to the construction of a ‘double decker’ bridge. After this he turned towards Sahebganj, where he had to turn back due to the presence of a truck. Ultimately, the speeding car went out of control and collided with an electric pole near the DM residence on Dak Bungalow Road. The collision was so strong that the car was badly damaged. Fearing that they would be caught, the miscreant driver Virendra and the employee fled away, taking advantage of the darkness and fog, leaving Nitish there in an injured state.
As soon as the information was received, ASP Ram Pukar Singh, Nagar Police Station President and Bhagwan Bazar Police Station President reached the spot with their team. Police confiscated the damaged car. Here the doctor’s driver is being treated. ASP said that the police is taking action on the basis of CCTV footage around the incident site and Sadhanapuri residence. The miscreants will not be spared.
