How many friends should we have: There was a time when groups of children were seen in every street and locality. They were friends despite being of different ages. They used to play together, go to study and share their thoughts with each other. But in the last few years, such friendships of children are ending, friends have reduced and children are spending most of their time on screens, TV and mobile phones. According to the doctors associated with the psychiatry department of AIIMS, mental problems like loneliness, irritability, anxiety and stress are increasing rapidly in small children.
Nand Kumar, Professor, Department of Psychiatry, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, AIIMS, New Delhi. Said that the main reason for increasing problems among children is that children make friends on screen or social media instead of real friends. Children’s continuous watching of phone reels, TV or screen for any reason, living in virtual or virtual world is spoiling their physical and mental health. Children should make their own real friends.
How many friends should each child have?
How many real friends should children make?
Dr. Nand Kumar says that every child should make at least 5 friends and share his feelings and emotions with them. It is also important that children understand the behavior of other children, talk to them, learn to live with real friends instead of reel ones. This is the most important thing for their development. Emotional health is the most important part of internal health because a healthy mind leads to a healthy body.
Always being active is bad
Children should share their feelings with friends instead of watching screens and reels.
He further said that we often think that being bored is bad, one should not be bored but it is also important. Being bored is important for mental health so that the mind can be prepared to think something new and fresh. Our mind also needs rest. Only then new ideas and innovations come. It is not necessary to be busy in any planning or activity all the time, nor is it good.
Due to the increasing problems of stress and anxiety in children, the Psychiatry Department of AIIMS is running MAT program in CBSE schools. So that children’s ability to withstand mental pressure, discomfort, nay and criticism can be increased and their flexibility can be increased towards the problems of life. This program named Mind Activation Through Education was prepared by Delhi AIIMS and now through it, children are being suggested ways to deal with stress and anxiety in a better way. Under this program, counselors have been deployed in schools for five days of training, they closely observe and examine the behavior of children there and then discuss them.
