Dr. Ram Otalwar of the District Veterinary Hospital said that animals are most at risk of pneumonia in cold weather. The infection progresses rapidly. Therefore, where animals are kept, there should be arrangements like fire or heater so that the environment remains warm.
Drinks and Vitamin C injection are beneficial in increasing immunity.
The doctor told that newborn calves must be fed peus (first milk), because it strengthens their immunity. Besides, injection of Vitamin C also helps in increasing immunity.
