Trump held the Biden government responsible for this. When a report asked how Biden was responsible, Trump angrily said, “Are you stupid?”

When a reporter mentioned the information about Lakanwal being related to the CIA, Trump said that he was allowed to enter without waiting and this is a big mistake of the Biden administration. Lakanwal was given entry to America in the year 2021 under Operation Alice’s Welcome, a program started during the Biden administration. The purpose of this program was to resettle those Afghan citizens who had helped the US military in Afghanistan. But Trump says that in this process thousands of people came to America without proper investigation and now the country is facing a security risk.

Trump reiterated that Afghan refugees were brought on planes and many of them were not eligible to live in America. Trump alleges that the vetting was not done properly during that time and the country is suffering its consequences today.
Did Trump give asylum to Lakanwal?
An interesting aspect has also come to light in this controversy. An organization called AfghanEvac says that Luckenwell had applied for asylum during the Biden administration, but his asylum approval happened during Trump’s tenure. Because of this, the debate has become more complicated as to which government is responsible for Lakanwal’s stay in America. CIA Director John Ratcliffe has also confirmed that Lakanwal had worked with American agencies in Afghanistan.
